The online Political Science 150 course has the identical course objectives and expected learning outcomes as the traditional PS 150 course delivered on campus. However, the online course is a 100% Internet based course. Students do not meet on campus. The class does not meet in real time. Rather, online courses are developed to allow completion of the course within a flexible time format for each particular student. The type of work assigned in an online course is different. There is a higher expectation for weekly assignments, reading and most importantly, personal responsibility. This is made more true during the winter and summer intersessions where the courses are generally reduced to 5 or 6-week semesters. In those formats the workload and pace of the course is heavy and constant. To gain insight into how the online PS 150 course differs from the traditional PS 150 course, compare the syllabi for each class.
